Parade Marches With Pride Through Long Valley

Hundreds of participants strut their stuff for strong crowd Saturday afternoon.

A late day sun bathed the streets and sidewalks in Long Valley's center Saturday, making way for a perfect parade route to celebrate the town's 275th birthday.

Participants included everyone from the Washington Township Historical Society to Long Valley Wolfpack Youth Wrestling. The march made its way from Old Farmers Road down to the Long Valley Middle School, with hundreds of spectators turning out for the festivities.

The parade was originally scheduled to precede a four-hour long festival, capped off by a fireworks display at the Long Valley Middle School. Due to a rainy forecast for Saturday night, the the festival was pushed to Sunday at 4 p.m.
