Purple Heart Recipient, Long Valley Grandfather Dies at 68
Frank Fortuna spent years in corporate finance after military service.

Frank Fortuna was a war veteran, patriot, and big baseball fan.
The Long Valley man died recently from Glioblastoma multiforme at the age of 68, according to his obituary.
Fortuna was a Lieutenant Forward Observer in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. After his service he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals.

After his time in the military, Fortuna worked in corporate finance for Amerada Hess and BASF before retiring in 2004.
Fortuna was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, enjoyed college basketball, and fishing.

Fortuna is survived by his wife, Pat, of 42 years; a daughter; son; and three grandchildren.
