LONG VALLEY - Washington Township Public Library will host an 8-week qigong series led by instructor Stan Cohen. Classes will be held Mondays from 2 – 3 p.m. and will run February 25th – April 15th. The cost for the series is $30. Registration forms are available online and at the library.

Qigong (pronounced Chee Gong) is a 5000 year old Chinese fitness modality and the grandparent of Tai Chi. Whereas Tai Chi is based in Martial Arts, Qigong is based in healing and providing a way, through movement of body and energy, to move and feel better.

The movements are easier to learn than Tai Chi making them easier to pick up and practice at home. They are gentle and work your entire body, inside and out with softness, grace and integrated breathing. Most practitioners, even beginners, find it relaxing and beneficial from the first class, gaining greater benefits as they learn more. Come out and join us. Your body and mind will thank you.
