Snow Rescue Vehicle Showcased By Long Valley First Responders

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Long Valley First Aid Squad took the most recent winter storm as an opportunity to test out their new snow-terrain rescue vehicle.
The squad trained with their Rescue 3, a Polaris Ranger 6x6 that can travel off-road through deep snow to conduct rescue missions.

“Washington Township attracts outdoor enthusiasts year-round to our many state, county, and municipal parks,” a statement said. “LVFAS is ready to respond no matter the conditions.”
The squad wasn’t training the whole time, however. The most recent snowstorm, which dumped as much as 16 inches onto Morris County, came with quite a few rescue calls in Long Valley.

The LVFAS responded to seven medical and trauma incidents during the storm. Some calls included a request for our drone to assist in a search, a car accident into a building, a rope rescue down a very steep and icy driveway, and more.
“Heavy snow, ice, and cold hasn't stopped us,” the squad said.
