A Summer Picnic In The Park Planned For Long Valley Senior Citizens

Washington Township Recreation welcomes seniors to a catered picnic and a live musical journey featuring Joe Gilligan.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — It's picnic season! And what a great way to cap off the summer with great entertainment and a traditional catered picnic for all Washington Township senior citizens.

Seniors are invited to a live musical journey with Joe Gilligan at Rock Spring Park. Joey will perform his "Dino to Doo Wop" show, which will include songs and stories about Dean Martin, Perry Cuomo, Pat Boone, Johnny Mathis, Elvis Presley and others.

This exciting community event, sponsored by Washington Township Recreation, will be held on Aug. 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Township Pavilion in Rock Spring Park.

In the event of inclement weather, the rain date is set for Aug. 25, 2022.

"Please do not hesitate to sign up for a fun time and don’t forget to bring your lawn chair for the mini-concert in the park," said Darlene Hatcher, Recreation and Senior Program Director.

The registration fee for this event is $13.50 for residents and $15 for non-residents, and it is due by Aug. 15, 2022. Residents can pay the fee either electronically or by check.
