Treasure Hunting in NJ

A metal detecting and history presentation at WTPL.

Long Valley - Are you interested in metal detecting, historical digs, and all things treasure? Stop by the Washington Township Public Library on Wednesday August 17th at 6:30 PM for a presentation about a metal detecting adventure.

Joe Jorgensen, Andrew Ciffer, and Paul Havemann, established members of an NJ metal detecting club and board members of ECRDA, last year had the opportunity to do an archeological dig in Pompton Plains, on the site of the Mandeville Inn! They excavated the midden, which was essentially a trash pit, for the hotel. They found a great many historical artifacts, which will be a large part of the presentation.

We hope to see you there, and ask that you register on the library calendar, or stop in the evening of August 17th.
