Virtual Lunch 'n' Learn for Seniors
"Fighting Food Waste - Helping the Environment & Your Food Budget" will be offered this Monday at Noon over Zoom

LONG VALLEY - Washington Township Public Library and the Senior Resource Center will be co-sponsoring "Fighting Food Waste - Helping the Environment & Your Food Budget" this Monday, July 27th, at Noon. Part of the Senior Resource Center's monthly Lunch 'n' Learn series, this presentation will be held live over Zoom. Surprisingly, food waste contributes 10% of greenhouse gases. Food in our kitchens that is wasted often ends up in plastic garbage bags decomposing in landfills releasing methane gas. Methane is a much more potent contributor to global climate change than carbon dioxide. Importantly, food waste costs us money, too. Join Cathy Segal to learn how to save money in your food budget with 5 simple strategies that reduce what we are throwing away in the trash. This program is free and open to all. Registration is required so we can send you a link to attend. To sign up, click here.
