Well Water, Life Support Residents Reminded to Register With JCP&L
Utility provider will contact, aid registered customers during extended outages.
As the summer storm season bears down on the mid-Atlantic, from excessive temperatures to powerful thunder and lightning storms, Jersey Central Power & Light is reminding residents who depend on well water or electric life support equipment to register with the utility company.
The electric provider keeps a critical care list of customers who depend on electrically operated life support equipment. Those listed are contacted if an outage affects their service for more than 24 hours. To be on the list, customers must complete and submit an authorization form signed by his or physician.
The same goes for residents with electronically operated wells for private water. Those customers are notified if a power outage is going to impact them for 24 hours or more, and will be advised of locations where water and ice are available.
