These are the 63 best pizza places across the state. One is so good, a couple even had it cater their wedding!
LONG VALLEY, NJ — While New York might have the distinction of being home to America's first pizza place and having a style of pie named after it, Jersey natives know you can find a great slice right here at home, too.
There's a lot of pizza to try here in New Jersey, some of it much better than the rest. For those looking to eat their way through the state's pizza parlors, Patch has complied a list of some of the top slices in the state, broken down by counties.
Here's how we picked the places: using Yelp, we searched for "pizza" near all 21 of New Jersey's counties and sorted by ranking. We looked through reviews of each of the top places, and based on what customers had to say, picked the top three pizza joints in each county, for a whopping 63 places to get a great slice in Jersey.

Carluccio’s Coal Fired Pizza in Northfield: "I think about this pizza all the time. Literally, all the time. I've had a lot of pizza but what sets this one apart is the crust. It is fluffy and light but also crisp on the edges. Honestly the best pizza in the area."-- Taylor P.

Some of the best, freshest pizza around, if you're into the kind of pizza that does NOT involve cardboard crust with flour and glue "cheese" on top. Trattoria La Sorrentina in North Bergen: "Ordered a couple pies well done and they came out exactly as we asked (not always the case at certain restaurants). The crust had a nice crunch to it followed by some nice texture toward the middle. Margherita was awesome, keeping it simple generally is the safest bet. Galasso’s Pizzeria in Frenchtown: "As I stood in my kitchen and ate 5 slices of my Brooklyn pie on a Friday night, I felt like the luckiest girl in the world that in my little ol Frenchtown, I just enjoyed one of the top five pizzas of my entire pizza eating life. Liberty Hall Pizza in Lambertville: "This is probably the best pizza that I've ever had! If you've never had Neapolitan pizza, oh my! What a treat! The dough is fermented for 3-5 days. Zoni’s Coal Fired Pizza in Red Bank: "Just tried a slice of this and it's honestly up there with some of the best pizza I've ever had. Princess margherita was incredible, fresh and light tasting!
