Youth Wrestling Program Hits the Mat Saturday, Invites Newcomers

Long Valley athletes looking to learn more about grappling invited to attend practice sessions.

With a new month comes a new season, and Nov. 1 marks the start of a high-intensity campaign.

The Long Valley Youth Wrestling program, for youngsters in Pre-K through eighth grade, kicks off Saturday, Nov. 1 at West Morris Central High School.

The program provides wrestling instruction and competitive opportunities, and is open to athletes of all shapes and sizes, skilled and unskilled.

All equipment is provided with registration, and the coaching staff includes former All-American wrestlers as well as decorated New Jersey high school wrestlers.

Those interested in learning more about the program are invited to see a practice session over the next week. Those age groups and times include:

Pre-K to 2nd Grade:
Saturday, Nov. 1, 9 to 10 a.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 4, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 5, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

3rd Grade to 6th Grade:
Saturday, Nov. 1, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Monday, Nov. 3, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 5, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

7th and 8th Graders:
Saturday, Nov. 1, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 3, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 4, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
