$100K Bail Held for Man Accused of Beating Woman, Boy in Morris County Hotel
Maurice Pearson considered a flight risk by Superior Court judge, report says.

The Irvington man arrested last Friday for allegedly beating a woman and her son in a Morris County hotel had his bail held at $100,000 Tuesday.
According to dailyrecord.com, Judge Stuart Minkowitz honored the request made by county prosecutors to keep the bail at $100,000 with no 10-percent option based on a number of factors, including the defendant’s alleged lying to police during the investigation.
Police arrived at the Knights Inn hotel on Rt. 46 in Montville Friday afternoon for a report of an assault. Upon arrival they found Maurice Pearson, 28, had allegedly assaulted a woman he was romantically involved with, and beat her three-year-old son, resulting in severe injuries.
