Celebrate International Museum Day at METC
Admission by donation all day on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

Madison, NJ – On May 18, 2019 join the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts (METC) in celebrating International Museum Day. As part of the international celebration, METC will be offering admission by donation all day.
The International Council of Museums (ICOM) established International Museum Day in 1977 to increase awareness about the role of museums in society. International Museum Day 2018 broke records with more than 40,000 museums hosting events in 152 countries.
This year, IMD 2019 will focus on the role of museums and the communities they serve. While museums continue to collect, preserve, and exhibit objects about history and culture, they are also finding new ways to honor their collections, creating connections with a diverse audience.

Since METC’s founding in 1969, the museum continues to be a pillar in the Madison community. With dynamic exhibits and educational programs, METC creates an experience that embraces the diverse stories of our history and culture.
Explore American history with a focus on the life and stories of 18th- and 19th- century craftsmen and artisans. Drawing on its rich collection, METC is connecting the lives of people and their stories, while providing a bridge from the past to the future. Housed in a stunning Richardsonian Romanesque Revival building donated by D. Willis James to the people of Madison, NJ in 1900, METC offers something for visitors of all ages. Regular METC admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors, students & children 6 and older, and free for members and children under 6. Family maximum admission $15.00. METC is open Tuesday – Saturday 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. and Sunday Noon to 5 P.M.
