MADISON, NJ — After decades of serving up lunch to locals, Central Lunch in Madison has shuttered its doors.
Madison Police shared the news of the closure on their Facebook page, calling it a "Madison fixture."
The counter-style diner first opening in 1928, and was known to locals as an inexpensive place to grab a tasty meal. Many Madison residents shared stories of the place online, including the time John F. Kennedy Jr. stopped by. According to the story, he ordered a sausage Klondike (potatoes, sausage, peppers, onions, cheese and eggs) as a sandwich.
