A Cornucopia of Opera & Song
Opera at Florham presents a Musicale recital featuring top vocalists singing classics and rarities from Opera to American Songbook
Opera at Florham presents its next Musicale on November 6, 2016 at 2 PM in Lenfell Hall, the Mansion. The recital, “A Cornucopia of Opera & Song”, presents professional vocalists from across the United States and abroad. The artists will perform a medley of Italian, Polish, and French opera and song enhanced with stories, history and facts about the music.
The Musicale will take place at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham, Madison, NJ. The venue, Lenfell Hall located in Hennessy Hall, was the drawing room of the Twombly family when they lived in the 100-room mansion.
Light refreshments will be served at intermission with the chance to mingle and meet the artists. Attendees are encouraged to bring children and grandchildren, who will be given the opportunity to meet and take pictures with the artists. Children as always are admitted free of charge and must be accompanied by an adult.

The program features three young singers who specialize in the music from Italy, France, and Poland. Soprano, Mia Pafumi, will present an array of Italian arias from the great composers Puccini and Donizetti. Tenor, Piotr Buszewski, will present a unique collection of Polish songs, complimented by a solo piano performance of a Chopin Prelude by pianist, Mary Pinto. Bass-baritone, André Courville, will round out the program with the famous arias “Ah! lève-toi, soleil!” and “Vous, qui faites l'endormie” from French composer Gounod and a selection of French art songs.
Funding has been made possible in part by funds from the Morris Arts Council through the New Jersey State Council of the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Tickets are $30 for regular admission, $25 for seniors, and $5 for students. Special rates are available for Groups of 10 or more at $20 per ticket. Tickets can be ordered by calling 973-443-8620 or on the website http://www.operaatflorham.org. Checks can be mailed to Opera at Florham, P. O. Box 343, Convent Station, NJ 07961. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, the day of the event.
