Dellavia, Ellis Help Dodgers Cruise Past St. Elizabeth

The field hockey team continued flaunting its dominance in 2011 with a 9-0 win over the Academy of St. Elizabeth Tuesday in Madison.

IN SHORT
After entering the Star-Ledger Top 20 at No. 17 this week, Madison continued showing why it deserves the ranking. The Dodgers baffled visiting St. Elizabeth in a 9-0 win, their fifth win in as many games to start the season.

Madison wasted no time getting in front as Michelle Montagna scored twice while Tori Ellis, Rachel Alvey and Skylar Oates found the net to help the Dodgers jump out to a 5-0 first-half lead.

The Dodgers would continue the onslaught in the second half behind three goals from Lexi Dellavia and another tally by Ellis, giving Madison its highest goal total of the season.

The offensive production was bolstered by an unflappable Madison defense, highlighted by Caroline McCann's third shutout of 2011, and the Dodgers easily extended their season-opening unbeaten streak.
