Drew Cancels First Day of Classes, Postpones Move-in Ahead of Hurricane
University said it will maintain staffing through storm.

is delaying move-in for returning students from Saturday or Sunday to Monday, August 29. Move-in for all returning students will take place on Monday.
The first day of classes scheduled for August 29 has been canceled and will be made up at a later date, the school said in an announcement on its website. The first day of classes will now take place on Tuesday, August 30.
The university will be open for business as normal on Monday, and staff should report to work as usual. Any change in operating status will be communicated in the same manner as a snow closing.

"The university will maintain necessary staffing levels throughout the storm to provide for the safety and well-being of those students already on campus," the announcement state. "Should power go out or a hazardous situation arise, Drew will provide information and instructions to students, as appropriate, via its Emergency Notification System.
Students who have not yet done so are asked to register their cell phone number. This is the official means by which the university communicates information in the event of a hazardous situation. The registration form may be found here: http://www.drew.edu/php/emergency/.
