Drew University for the first time will present the Farmers' Market in Madison, which opens for its 20th season on June 23.
The Market will run from 2 - 7 p.m. every Thursday on Waverly Place through Sept. 29.
"Sponsoring the Madison Farmers' Market is a natural collaboration between the Downtown Development Commission and Drew University," said Sara Waldron, Dean of Campus Life and Students affairs at Drew. "The Farmers' Market supports Drew's efforts towards sustainability and community building. It is paramount that we nurture the relationship of the Drew community as part of the Madison community."

Waldron said that the Market created "tremendous buzz around campus," and helped bring Drew students and staff into other downtown merchants, as well."We are so fortunate to be part of such a vital town," she said.
Mike Kopas, DDC Commissioner and Drew staff member, observed that "By supporting the Market, we are supporting locally grown food and local businesses, all within the town Drew calls home. “
The DDC relies solely on donations for support, and Commission chairman Brad Cramer of Cramer’s Carpet One thanked the University for its donation, which go directly back into the community business district.
