Senior Bus Program Has Resumed Operations In Madison

The Madison Senior Bus transportation program has been reinstated, according to borough officials. The bus transports Madison residents aged 18 and up to any Madison location, including ShopRite in Chatham. Residents should call (973) 593-3095 and select option 1 to make a bus reservation. The transportation program will begin accepting reservations for same-day trips at 8:00 a.m.

Families Can Receive Free Gun Locks From Madison Police Department

In an effort to prevent gun violence, the Madison Police Department has partnered with Project Child Safe, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, to distribute free gun locks. The program is supported by a grant from the US Department of Justice, as well as additional funding from the firearms industry. Each kit includes safety information as well as a cable-style gun lock. The lock is designed to fit most handguns, rifles and shotguns.

Get Free Ice Cream For Wearing A Helmet In Madison

Usually, if the police issue you a ticket, it is for something you did wrong. That is not the case for Madison children out on their bikes. This summer, police are ticketing them for doing the right thing. Children who are seen practicing proper bike safety, including the use of a helmet, will be rewarded with a certificate for a free kids cone from McCool's Ice Cream Parlour.

Former Morris Co. Pharma Executive Charged In Insider Trading Scheme

The former head of corporate communications of a $21 billion biopharmaceutical company based in Morris Plains was indicted yesterday for her role in an insider trading scheme, federal authorities said. Lauren S. Wood, 33, of Washington, D.C., was indicted on June 22 and charged with securities fraud, officials said. Usama Malik, the former company CFO who now lives in Washington, D.C., was previously indicted on three counts on May 10.
