By now most everyone in Madison knows that Patch, like an advancing army, travels on its stomach. Raised among the diners and delis of northern New Jersey and schooled at the finest Cajun eateries of New Orleans, true, but what you may not know is that Patch has a serious weakness for cheesesteak sandwiches. A Philadelphia birthplace will do that, especially when they showed up on Mother Patch’s prenatal menu.
So it was with a gourmand’s delight that Patch beheld parked at 326 Main Street and eagerly stepped under the awning and up to the window to sample all the wonders within.
Kevin Richart and his wife, Donamarie, sold their contracting business and got into the oh-so-trendy world of lunch trucks in 2010. July marks their one-year anniversary serving all comers on the streets of the Rose City; orders can be called in and the truck is available to serve events on-location.
Patch ordered a cheesesteak sandwich with peppers, onions and mushrooms and a half-and-half side of onion rings and fries, delivered in short order and piping hot. Fantastic—and it all tastes that much better when served from a truck. Trust Patch.
Kevin’s offers an impressive four-wheel menu, from a breakfast hero of three eggs, cheese, meat and potatoes, to a Belly Buster hot dog hero of three Sabrett dogs, along with burgers, wraps, salads, and assorted sides including chicken tenders and chili ‘n’ cheese fries. There’s a different daily special Monday through Thursday.
