Kids Bust Piggy Bank For Madison Area YMCA
Twenty crumpled $1 bills were left at the Welcome Center Friday.
MADISON, NJ - It was a particularly cute philanthropic Friday at the Madison Area YMCA when Associate Development Director Leigh Anne Soroka was given an unusual donation envelope.
Soroka, written on the envelope was “YMCA Donation, $20, William and Grace B.”
Inside the envelope were twenty crumpled one-dollar bills from William, 5, and three-year-old Grace.

"They wanted to give to the new building, so they fished into their piggy bank and gave all they had," Soroka said.
Currently, the Madison Area YMCA is looking to construct a new addition, including a new swimming pool at the Family Center facility at 111 Kings Road.

The current proposal includes office and program space on a second floor as well as a six or eight-lane pool and a full-size gym on the first floor. The plans say it would be constructed on on the YMCA’s east side, next to the current four-lane swimming pool at the YMCA Family Center.
For her part, Soroka reached out to the mother of William and Grace to thank them and she told her that it was all their idea and she was so proud of the kids for wanting to contribute.
