Lassiter's Four TDs Lead Madison Past Hanover Park
Dodgers win 17th straight, but Goodwin leaves game with possible concussion.
The football team overcame a sluggish start to defeat Hanover Park 28-7 on Friday afternoon at Ted Monica Stadium. The teams were tied after the first quarter and the hosts led by only a touchdown at the half. In addition, the Dodgers' total of 28 points pales in comparison to the previous three weeks when the team averaged 50 points per game. However, the Dodgers were never seriously threatened by the Hornets in this one.

IN SHORT
Quarterback Carson Lassiter took care of the offense, rushing for four touchdowns and 95 yards on 14 carries and also throwing for 99 yards. The team would need Lassiter's help as running back Justin Goodwin left in the first half with a possible concussion. He did not return and coach Chris Kubik said after the game that the team will wait and see if he's available next week against Lenape Valley.

THEY SAID IT
“They stepped up. Hanover Park is a tough team, they're always tough against us. They play hard and they're well-coached, but the bottom line is at the end of the day we needed guys to step up and they did. I'm very proud of them.” — Madison Coach Chris Kubik
“We weren't sure. We were going to check his status, I haven't talked to the trainer yet. She thought it was safe to keep him out. We weren't sure so we would rather be safe than sorry. He took a hit and we didn't want to mess around with it. It could be [a concussion], we're not sure how serious it is.” — Kubik
UP NEXT—Lenape Valley next Friday at Lenape Valley High School, 7 p.m.
