Look Stylish for New Year's – with Madison's Help
Two boutiques in town are good places to look for the latest styles for your special occasion.
New Year's Eve is just around the corner, and it's the social event to start off the rest. Just as important as whom you're with and where you spend it, is how you dress for the occasion. Two boutiques in the shopping district of Madison have the looks to make your outfit show-stopping.
Our first stop was Blush Boutique located on Waverly Place and owned by fashionista Stephanie Crowley.
"New Years Eve is that one party that brings new beginnings and excitement," said Crowley.

Blush Boutique carries one-of-kind accent pieces to make an ordinary outfit stand out. The clothes are comfortable and don't scream for attention, but offer just enough charm to make heads turn.
According to Crowley, the right blouse or top paired with classic jeans is perfect to bring in the New Year. Her collection includes pieces from Mystic and 213 that have sequins to make you shine.

"Sparkles!" said Crowley. "At least a little bit. It's the one time of year people accept sparkles."
If you don't want to wear them on your clothes, Blush has jeweled barrettes perfect for your hair.
"They'll dress up any hairdo. Wearing it down and pulling it out of your face or put it up and clip it to your ponytail."
As for trends, Crowley advises against following the norm.
"If it looks good, go for it."
But if you want to know where to start, "Purple looks good on all skin tones," said Crowley. "It's not bright red, but it adds color."
The second location that knows a thing or two about local fashion is Statements, owned by chic stylist Brooke Ciali and located on Main Street.
"New Years Eve is the one time of year people leave their comfort zones," said Ciali, who recommends women everywhere get dressed up.
Statements' collection includes more fashion-forward pieces that aren't over the top. The dresses carried at this boutique, including the lines BB Dakota and Lush, are sure to get you noticed.
Ciali recommends dresses that parallel the alluring beauty of New Year's Eve itself.
As for trends, "Embrace them!" said Ciali. A pair of simple earrings with layered necklaces or rows of bangles and cuffs are perfect outfit decorations.
"Be bold, fashion forward and confident," said Ciali.
Also featured at the boutique is a wall of accessories where you can find shiny accessories to pair with any outfit.
Although classic black is usually worn at this evening event, Ciali said bright colors are nothing to be afraid of.
"You'll see more bright colors into the Spring and Summer. A lot of '80s influences."
So whatever your style, don't make New Year's Eve just another party. Both boutiques carry stylish lines that can help you make a blushing statement as the ball drops.
