Madison Tabs Roxbury Principal as Director of Curriculum
New hire choice of schools chief Rossi.
The Madison at its Thursday meeting approved the hiring of Lee Nittel as its new Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
Nittel, who will earn $132,000 in 2011-12, most recently served as principal of Eisenhower Middle School in the Roxbury School district.
As reported by Patch, Nittel was the hand-picked choice of Madison schools superintendent Michael Rossi. Rossi served as Roxbury schools chief prior to coming to the Madison district.

Nittel succeeds Barbara Sargent, the former Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction who was named superintendent of the Readington Township school district earlier this year.
According to his LinkedIn profile, since March 2008 Nittel worked as Eisenhower principal, which has 660 students in grades seven and eight, and 70 staff members. From October 2005 to March 2008 he worked as vice principal at Randolph Middle School.

Nittel graduated from Rowan University in 1992 with a degree in Music Education, and in 2002 at the same school earned a masters in Educational Administration. Beginning in 1994 Nittel spent 10 years as a music teacher at Sampson G. Smith Intermediate School in Franklin Township.
