Mag Street on Main Street
Mag Street Design Studio and The Shop at Mag Street are open for business.
The next time you're looking for a custom-made invitation or logo design for your personal business, check out the newly-opened Mag Street Design Studio, located at 250 Main St. Or if you're in the market for something a little different, head next door to the Mag Street Shop and browse its selection of locally-made gift items.
"It's a two-part business," said store owner and graphic designer Kate Lavinio, who is also a Madison resident.
The first part is the Mag Street Design Studio, which offers a variety of services related to both print and Web design. The studio advertises assistance with devising items such as brochures, customized wedding invitations, and business cards.

Its Web services include the design of banners, blog advertisements, and html e-mail blasts, in addition to basic Web design.
Among the most recognizable of the studio's corporate designs might be that of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, which Lavinio said she worked closely with in order to create a logo.

Other projects in the Mag Street Studio's portfolio include the Madison Golf Club Brochure, Elite Dentistry of Madison's logo and business card designs, and the logo for Sprouts Children and Maternity Consignment Shop on Main Street.
The second part of the new business is a retail store featuring items and gifts crafted by regional artists.
"It's a great place where local artists can show off their skills and hopefully make a profit," Lavinio said.
The shop's unique items include handbags, jewelry, and decorative pieces for the home.
Mag Street Design Studio and The Shop at Mag Street were officially opened last month on Nov. 16. Before her current venture, Lavinio said she worked as a freelance graphic designer out of her home.
"I grew up here so it's nice to have a business in the town I grew up in," said the new shop owner of its Madison location.
