TailGunner R3 is Ann Frommer’s second novel coauthored with Vic Merkel. It continues where Tailgunner : War Defines Us, left off. TailGunner R3 gave Ann the opportunity to research the Cold War and its impact on the Eastern European countries. Her husband, Robert Frommer and his family left their homeland of Hungary for a better life after the ‘56 uprising’. This story mirrors in part what they went through. Ms Frommer, an RN studied liberal arts at Columbia University, art at NYU in New York and completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. In addition to writing, she is a landscape photographer whose work is exhibited in multiple New Jersey galleries and hangs in private collections.

In his novel Seeking Degrees of Freedom, Ward Dill uses his fascination with organizational dynamics, science, technology, aviation, and entrepreneurism to depict a near future hard science fiction drama which focusing on a team of biologists attempting to find a cure against HIV- X, a threat to humanity. Mr. Dill has a master’s degree from MIT, is a private pilot, fully enjoys imagining the future based on real advances. His favorite theme is the rewards of teamwork. A group, working together toward a goal each has a passion to achieve, offers those people the best opportunity for fulfillment, happiness, and love. Says Dill, “ The arc of the novel intends to inspire and delight.”

Saturday, August 29th ~ 10:00-11:00 am ~ Children’s Story Time

Youngsters will be treated to a reading and signing by author Shirley Hooper and Chatham resident and illustrator Alison Hooper who recently self-published the children’s, Wrong Way. The original short story written by mother, Shirley Hooper, when she was a child and was later illustrated by her daughter Alison as part of a Language Arts lesson for her second grade students. Each picture was created by carving a potato, hand painting the potato and then individually ‘printing’ each character onto the page. The book tells the story of a small laboratory hamster, Martha, who always seems to do everything the “Wrong Way”. When a fire breaks out in the laboratory, however, will Martha be the one to save the day? Both Alison and Shirley Hooper will be on hand to sign and personalize books for all.
