Morris County Man Dies From Hit-And-Run Injuries, Prosecutor Says

Incident occurred on June 20, authorities offering $11,000 for information leading to an arrest.

The man who was critically injured as the result of a suspected hit-and-run in Madison in June has died from his injuries, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced Thursday.

The man, whose identity is being withheld, was found critically injured on Main Street in Madison around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, and police believe his injuries were a result of a possible hit-and-run, Knapp said.

The man died at Morristown Medical Center on July 1, Knapp said.

Surveillance photos show a Hyundai Sante Fe produced between 2013 and 2015 in the area of the incident heading east on Main Street toward Chatham. Damage may be minimal and possibly concentrated to the front part of the vehicle.

Morris County CrimeStoppers is offering an $11,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information is urged to call Madison Police at 973-593-3000 or the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office at 973-285-6200.
