Powerball Winning Lottery Ticket Sold in Madison
One $50,000 third-tier prize was sold on Main Street.
MADISON, NJ - One Madison area lottery player walked away with a $50,000 third tier prize from the Wednesday's Powerball drawing.
According to officials, the winning ticket was sold at Garden State News, located at 43 Main Street. The news comes on the same day New Jersey Lottery Acting Executive Director James Carey announced that one Wisconsin ticket holder won the $768.4 million Powerball jackpot from the Wednesday drawing.
There was one New Jersey Lottery ticket sold that matched five of the five white balls drawn winning the $1,000,000 second-tier prize. That ticket was sold at Frenchtown Market, 28
Sixth Street, Frenchtown in Hunterdon County.

In addition to the second-tier prizewinning ticket sold, there were nine New Jersey Lottery tickets sold that matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball drawn winning the $50,000 third-tier prize.
One of those tickets was purchased with the Power Play Multiplier option, multiplying the prize to
$150,000. These winning tickets from Wednesday night’s drawing were sold at the following locations:

• Union County ($150,000): Wallis Stationary, 441 Park Ave., Scotch Plains;
• Atlantic County ($50,000): Mays Landing Lukoil, 6068 Harding Hwy., Mays Landing;
• Cumberland County ($50,000): Sunoco, Main St. & Fairton Pike, Fairton;
• Middlesex County ($50,000): Colonia Convenience, 498 Inman Ave., Colonia;
• Middlesex County ($50,000): 7-Eleven #33650, 290 George St., New Brunswick;
• Monmouth County ($50,000): Wine Utopia, 230 Shrewsbury Plaza Route 35, Shrewsbury;
• Morris County ($50,000): Garden State News, 43 Main St., Madison;
• Ocean County ($50,000): Plaza Liquors, 1023 Route 70 W., Manchester; and
• Union County ($50,000): US-1 Discount Liquor, 771-773 Edgar Rd., Elizabeth.
The winning numbers for the Wednesday drawing were: 16, 20, 37, 44 and 62. The
Red Power Ball number was 12. The Multiplier number was 03. The Powerball jackpot resets to
$40,000,000 for the next drawing to be held Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
There were 337,832 other New Jersey players who took home an estimated $1,718,172 in
prizes ranging from $4 to $300, according to Carey.
“Congratulations to all of the lottery players who purchased winning tickets and to the retailers that sold them,” said Carey. “I’d like to remind players to purchase their Powerball tickets with a winning attitude and add Power Play to the ticket purchase. Power Play doubles the second prize from one million dollars to two million dollars and multiplies all of the seven lower prize sets available in the game by the number drawn that evening. The jackpot prize is not multiplied.”
