Republican Candidates Ready to Serve Madison

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Polls will be open from 6 am till 8 pm. Madison local candidates Rob Catalanello for Mayor and Pat Rowe and Kathy Dailey for Madison Borough Council ask for your vote.

Rob and Pat have each served two terms on council, and Pat previously served for ten years on the Madison Board of Education. Additionally, they both possess decades of professional experience in private-sector roles of leadership, managing large staffs and budgets. They are joined by Kathy Dailey, who has extensive experience in a variety of operations management roles; policy development, government affairs, and legal and regulatory support.

All three candidates have raised their families in Madison, having moved to town decades ago when they were first married and looking for the perfect place to begin and raise a family. All have been involved in a variety of volunteer activities with their schools, sports teams, churches and other nonprofits. They understand Madison and want to preserve the town that they all fell in love with.

Madison stands at a crossroad. A Democrat sweep will leave the borough without Republican oversight, which means taxpayers can expect less transparency, no focus on keeping Madison affordable, and no fiscal restraint. If elected/re-elected, Rob, Pat and Kathy promise to do the following:

• Reduce the bloated $13 million-and-growing surplus accounts and cut electric rates so residents can experience meaningful savings.
• Prioritize the use of the property taxes and utility dollars the borough collects from residents so that our town’s critical infrastructure—water, electric and sewer—are ready to serve the next generation of Madisonians.
• Analyze the trends of shops and customers in our downtown to forecast, plan, and prepare the area for at least ten years hence, and to better ensure the borough is doing its part to keep the area vital and accessible.
• Work with our partners on the board of education to assist in ways to help them deliver an affordable, quality education for our children.
• Provide guidance to our administrative team in the many areas that we have from our three decades of running large teams, projects, and budgets in the private sector;
• Push our teams to modernize our utility metering and billing systems so we can eliminate many of the labor-intensive manual processes we’ve been doing for decades.
• Continue to work with all our wonderful and dedicated volunteers on the committees, boards, and commissions we’ve been so gratified to collaborate with throughout the past six years.
• Remain independent voices at council meetings, asking the tough questions that we know many residents would if they were sitting in our chairs, and speaking out when we feel the community needs to be aware of an important issue before council.
