What caused the accident has not yet been determined, officials said.

The injuries 20 people sustained as a result of a two-bus crash inside the Lincoln Tunnel Monday were not life-threatening, authorities said.

The buses collided in the tunnel's center tube at 7:34 a.m.; the cause of the accident has not yet been determined, and neither driver was issued a summons, said Neal Buccino, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The 20 injured people were taken to a nearby hospital, Buccino said. He did not say what hospital they were brought to, nor did he give an update on their conditions Tuesday afternoon.

The accident caused two-hour delays in the area heading toward the tunnel, even after the tube was opened shortly before 9 a.m., authorities said.
