2015 Adopted Municipal Budget Placed Online
Budget includes a $33 municipal tax increase and plans to purchase five new fire trucks for the Mahwah Fire Department and a new ambulance.

Officials have placed the 2015 adopted municipal budget online on the Mahwah website.
The average homeowner’s municipal tax bill will increase $33 due to a $592,000 increase to the tax levy, the portion of the budget raised by local taxes.
The 1.9 percent tax rate increase is much less than what Mayor William Laforet proposed in his budget in February. That budget included an annual tax increase of 3.5 percent.

The budget maintains the same number of staff and recreation and senior center programs, and restores twice-a-week garbage pickup.
The council also reduced the mayor’s recommended capital budget from $6.6 million to $3.5 million.
