Basement Fire Breaks Out In Mahwah Home, Officials Said

MAHWAH, NJ — A fire broke out in the basement of a single-family ranch home Thursday in Mahwah, according to authorities.

The 10:46 a.m. fire at the Airmount Road dwelling, sold for $617,000 last year, had spread in the walls, sources said.

Fire crews made quick work of the blaze, which was contained to a single room and placed under control with "minimal damage to the rest of the home," a Mahwah fire company said in a post.
