Bergen Man, 31, Killed In PA Crash Early Friday: Officials

A 31-year-old Saddle River man died when his pickup truck went off the road and struck an embankment, state police said.

SADDLE RIVER, NJ — A Bergen County man died early Friday morning after a crash in eastern Pennsylvania, according to officials.

Jerome Derenzo, 31, was driving a pickup truck westbound on Sunbury Road in Barry Township (Schuylkill County), Pennsylvania state police said.

Shortly before 1 a.m., officials said he lost control of the vehicle, went off the road, and struck an embankment. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Derenzo was not wearing a seat belt at the time, police said. He was the only person in the car.
