NEWS ITEM-GIANTS HUMILIATE PANTHERS 36-7 ON THURSDAY NIIGHT
The Super Bowl Champions put on thier best performance of the early 2012 NFL regular season with a complete thrashing of the Carolina Panthers. The win was quite remarkable as Big Blue played without its star running back, all pro wide reciever, veteran offensive lineman and kick returner. Following the refrain of " Next man up" backups WR Ramses Barton and and RB Andre Brown took advantage of prime time exposure and stepped up big time as QB Eli Manning reached over 1000 yards passing in just three games.
Equally as remarkable was the fact that the Giants had one practice since last Sunday's win at home vs Tampa Bay. The World Champs have had a bazarre early schedule and this may have been coach Tom Coughlin and staff's finest hour or 3 day period as Giants coaches. The Gmen were extremely well prepared and outplayed coach Ron Rivera's Panthers by a bigger margin than the score indicated. The Giants set the tone of the game early by taking the opening drive 80 yards for a touchdown and the defense gave a Super Bowl performance in rattling the home standing Panthers. Eli and JPP were their usual all world selves but Thursday nights game was a trophy of excellent coaching and preparedness and the shrewed drafting and dealing by GM Jerry Reese. The Giants are off now until September 30 when they travel down the turnpike to take on MIke Vick and the Eagles in a Suinday Night prime time tilt
