Boston Shows Changes in the Fire Service
A reminder on why firefighters must now be trained in responding to acts of terror. This is the current posting on the Mahwah Fire Department 100th Anniversary Page.

Sadly, a major change in the fire service over the past 100 years has been the emergence of terrorism. Today every firefighter who graduates the Bergen Fire Academy Firefighter 1 has received extensive training in CBRNE (Chemical, biological, radio-logical, nuclear and explosives). This is in addition to Haz-Mat Awareness 1 and 2 and Haz Mat Operations 1 and 2.
Today's MFD trains to be prepared for the unexpected and learn from the lessons of the past.
The attached photo is of several MFD firefighters paying their respects at Ground Zero on September 11, 2007.
