The 2012 New York Knicks...Happy Days Are Here Again?
And, some advice for Tom Coughlin and the NY Giants
NEWS ITEM-KNICKS RALLY FROM A 12 POINT DEFICIT TO DEFEAT SAN ANTONIO THURSDAY NIGHT IN TEXAS
That thud you heard Thursday night on TV was the sound of NBA coaches and players pulling up a chair by their television sets so they could get a good look at the NBA's only unbeaten team -- the New York Knicks!
Granted it is still very early, but after 6 games the Knicks have passed every test so far, and easily.

Thursday night seemed like a playoff game and New York and San Antonio battled at the AT&T Center by the Riverwalk. The Spurs are an aging team that has remained in championship contention for the last 12 years while the Knicks have looked as bad as the New York Jets.
The Knicks gave their best performance in the last 15 years as Felton. Chandler and the revitalized Jason Kidd stormed back from a 12 point deficit in the game's last 7 minutes. Much like the previous 5 games this year, the New Yorkers relied on excellent defense and fantastic ball movement to put pressure on the Spurs. Like the rest of the basketball world, we will be watching the Knicks like old times this season, they feature an exciting brand of basketball the likes of which has not been seen in these parts since the turn of the century.

NEWS ITEM-NY GIANTS HAVE A BYE THIS WEEK
Talk about perfect timing, it's clear Big Blue needs some time off.....IT'S TIME TO PANIC! After a great 6-2 start, the Giants have lost two straight and some old demons thought to be exorcised have resurfaced:
- All of the sudden, the offensive line cannot protect Eli or open holes for Bradshaw and company. Rarely can this be pointed out to one thing but in this case there is a reason for this. David Diehl has returned from a 4 week injury and most of the time has been overwhelmed since he returned. The Giants would be better served to replace Diehl with Locklear, the offensive line was much better when constructed that way.
- With the lack of pass protection, Eli has not been as accurate and has a case of happy feet as pressure gets near him. That didn't happen in the first 8 weeks of the season.
- The defensive line is either overrated or on vacation. The last couple of weeks the Giants have made mediocre QBs look like Hall of Famers, and at the same time have managed to give up over 140 yards on the ground. The secondary is not as bad as it seems but without a pass rush ANY secondary is at the mercy of the offense.
- All of the sudden, the Giants can't cover kicks or punts...AGAIN. With the turn of the seasons we have noticed that Lawrence Tynes no longer reaches the end zone on his kickoffs. Whereas earlier in the season the kickoffs resulted in touch backs and teams started on the 20, now the oppostion is able to return the kicks and the Giants are horrible in coverage.
So there you go Tom Coughlin and company, I have laid it out there for you. FIX IT! The G-Men have 6 games left after the bye week and will need to win at least 4 to make the playoffs. The game against Green Bay on Sunday Night Football, a good place to begin.
