The 2012 Regular Baseball Season Is Over...Isn't It?
Why I have had ENOUGH of Joe Girardi
Wednesday marks the end of the 2012 Major League Baseball season, and I am really exhausted as Joe Girardi and the Yankees are really wearing me out as they head into yet another post season of play.
After blowing a 10 game lead in the second half of the regular season, Joe Girardi's over-managing has almost cost the Yankees the post season tournament. In the last week alone he has blown two games and almost cost the game Tuesday night vs. the hated Boston Dead Sox.
In Minnesota, he took out Phil Hughes just in time to let Boone Logan throw a wild pitch and a bases-clearing double turning a 3-1 lead into a 5-1 deficit. Last weekend in Toronto he removed 5-time World Champion Andy Pettitte without showing any respect for Andy whatsoever.

Tuesday night Girardi reached the mountaintop of over-managing. For some reason with two games left in the regular season, with a one game lead Girardi took the hottest hitter in baseball - Robinson Cano - out of the cleanup spot and inserted Mark Teixeira, who was rushed back from injury and in only his second game back. Cleary, he cannot run from his calf injury. So, of course with the Yankees down 2-0 in the game, Tex comes up in the first and third innings and runners on first and third and one out...YOU GUESSED IT...he hit into two inning ending double plays. Later on, Tex hit into another double play as well stranding a total of 9 baserunners while hitting in Cano's spot.
Equally as troubling is that if I can see this on my couch why cant Girardi see it from the dugout. One other thing if you are gonna put Tex there why not try to steal a base or put a runner in motion to at least guarantee no double play or try to extend the inning? In both instances AROD was on first and he is one of the leaders on the team in stolen bases.

Fortunately for Girardi, Raul Ibanez saved his bacon with a game-tying home run, and eventual game winning hit. But, if the Yankees don't win the World Series, I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF JOE GIRARDI.
