The NY Giants take on the Dallas Cowboys as the NFL opens its 2012 season
We welcome back regular season National Football League football as the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants begin defending their title at home against the Dallas Convicts, er Cowboys.
The Giants come off a preseason where the defense appeared to be in mid-season form and the offense seems to have one big issue--the consistency of the offensive line.
Tuck, Osi, Kiwi, and JPP appear ready to wreck havoc on anyone who has the audacity to attempt to pass the football. The Giants have strengthened their line-backing core, at one time thought to be a weakness. GM Jerry Reese acquired Keith Rivers, a one time first round pic of the Bengals, and along with Boley and Kiwi, Big Blue has shown considerable improvement in the linebacker play.

The secondary is unsettled because Terrell Thomas will unfortunately miss another whole season due to injury and Prince Amakamurra will miss this week's opener. The Giants will be able to cover this shortcoming by having the best pass rush in pro football and Romo will be running for his life at Met Life.
The key to this game will be how well the offensive line plays. If these 5 guys can play adequately, blocking for the run as well as the pass, the Giants will win this game and cover easily. If they don't, then this will be a dogfight.

At press time the Cowboys have not ruled Jason Witten in or out of this game with a spleen injury. If Witten doesn't play, we like Big Blue to win 31-17.
