Customers Help Cops Arrest Suspected Mahwah Bank Robbers: Report
2 customers called police while another followed the suspects' vehicle, police said in a report.
MAHWAH, NJ — TD Bank customers helped police arrest two people charged with robbing the bank on Sunday, according to a report by NorthJersey.com.
Chief James Batelli could not be reached for comment Sunday afternoon or Monday morning.
A white man in his 50s walked in the bank, brandished a handgun and demanded money from a teller, Batelli said in the report.

A teller at the drive-thru window asked a customer to call police and another customer saw the man and a woman drive off; the customer followed them until police caught up with the vehicle before it crashed.
The names of the suspects were not released.
