Visitors to the Mahwah Museum tent on Mahwah Day, September 22, at Commodore Perry Field, 12 - 5 p.m., will be able to play a special guitar made by Gibson Company to honor 9/11 first responders. The guitar was custom made by Gibson Company as a special tribute to the 10th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001. This beautiful guitar is entitled "Always Honor" and is one of only three guitars made to commemorate this anniversary.
This guitar has been played by many prominent guitarists as part of the “Play a Les Paul Guitar” programs that are part of a two year tribute to Les Paul exhibit by the Museum at 201 Franklin Turnpike, Mahwah. The Museum exhibit is open on Wednesdays and weekends from 1-5 p.m. and over 3000 visitors have already enjoyed this tribute to the legendary inventor and performer who lived in Mahwah for over 50 years before his death in 2009.
One of those guitarists, pictured here with the Always Honor Guitar, is Lou Pallo, a longtime friend of Les Paul. Pallo along with John Colianni and Nicki Parrot, the Les Paul Trio, will perform at the Berrie Center at Ramapo College on September 29. Tickets are available at the Berrie Center box office, by phone at 201.684.7844 or online at http://www.ramapo.edu/berriecenter/events/september.html
