
The annual Glen Gray Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Lake Vreeland, in Camp Glen Gray, in Mahwah, NJ (near Oakland). Competition is from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, rain or shine.
This year the Glen Gray Fishing Derby has three divisions: Junior Youth (up to and including 10 years of age), Senior Youth (ages 11 to 17), Adult (18 and up).
The top three anglers in each Division will be awarded trophies and prizes. In prior years, every Junior and Senior Youth angler took home a prize, even kids that didn't catch any fish. Prizes typically include rods and reels, gift certificates to sporting goods stores, fishing magazines and books, comic books, and all kinds of fishing tackle. Awards & prize ceremony immediately after the derby ends at 11:30 am.

Proceeds from entry fees and donations will be used to support Camp Glen Gray. Our lake has a thriving gamefish population consisting of Largemouth Bass, Bluegill Sunfish, Pickerel, and Channel Catfish. Please pre-register early, we are limiting the Derby to the first 100 registrants. The fee is $10 for adults (no fee if there to help child) and $8 for junior/senior youth.
