New Dine-In Movie Theater Opened Wednesday In North Jersey

The 'Ultra Lux' theater opened Wednesday at The Shops of Riverside in Hackensack. It features dinner, alcoholic beverages and desserts.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Who needs popcorn when you can get dinner?

AMC will open a dine-in "Ultra Lux" theater Wednesday at the Shops at Riverside on Route 4 in Hackensack. The AMC Dine-In Shops at Riverside 9 features reclining seats, in-seat food delivery, a bar and more.

Food options go way beyond just the typical movie staples. Appetizers and entrees include caprese flatbread, chicken bacon mac and cheese, Asian steak and shrimp bowl, chipotle chicken melt and cheeseburgers. Dessert milkshakes offer guests a way to top off their meals with a little sweetness.

Food is brought to customers before a movie starts, offering a "distraction-free" environment, AMC said.

If you're of age, you can enjoy a drink at the theater's MacGuffins bar, which offers beer, wine and cocktails.

"With AMC dine-in, we’ve upped a night out by bringing you the best of both worlds, a restaurant and movie theatre, as one amazing experience,” said Jennifer Douglass, vice president, AMC dine-in operations.
