How Much Is COVID Spreading In Bergen County With Delta Emerging
Bergen County still has a substantial level of community COVID transmission, according to the CDC.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The delta variant continues to be the prevailing strain of COVID-19 in New Jersey, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that the county still has a "substantial" level of community transmission.
The CDC reports that Bergen County has seen a 12.86 percent uptick in COVID-19 cases through Wednesday of this week, and the state Department of Health reporting 93,322 total cases on Friday.
Health Department data shows that more than 100 cases were recorded on each day this week, with 172 on Tuesday, 178 on Wednesday, 144 on Thursday and 167 on Friday.

In response to the uptick, some communities are deciding to institute masking again, including Teaneck, who requires masks to be worn by visitors in municipal buildings.
Wayne Township officials have put forth a vaccination mandate for municipal employees, who have until Sept. 17 to get vaccinated against COVID.
