DID YOU KNOW?
Joyce Kilmer's poem "Trees" was so popular it was set to music. His mother, Annie Kilburn Kilmer, wrote one version. The most-acclaimed melody was penned by Oscar Rasbach who bought the musical rights from Kilmer's widow, Aline, for $25. She later admitted it was a bad business deal. The Rasbach version was performed by famed singers Robert Merrill, Nelson Eddy and Paul Robeson, and was featured in a Little Rascals film.
