DID YOU KNOW?
Poet patriot Joyce Kilmer was brought up an Episcopalian. But after his infant daughter, Rose, was diagnosed with polio in Mahwah, he and his wife, Aline, converted to Catholicism on November 5, 1913 at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle on Columbus Avenue in Manhattan. Thereafter, Kilmer attended mass at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern every morning before boarding an express train to his job at The New York Times.
