Lyndhurst Police Looking For Man Missing Since Thursday

Vitorino Cirne, 51, left his home between 1:30 and 6 a.m. Thursday, police said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Lyndhurst police continue to search for a man five days after he was reported missing.

Vitorino Cirne, 51, was reported missing to police early Thursday morning, said Capt. John Valente. He left his home in his vehicle sometime between 1:30 and 6 a.m.

Cirne's vehicle was later found in Lyndhurst near Kingsland and Riverside avenues, Valente said.

Cirne works for the United States Postal Service in Kearny.

Cirne is 5'7" tall, weighs 150 pounds, has brown eyes, brown and gray hair, and a fair complexion, police said. He was last seen wearing blue lounge pants and a black Adidas zippered front jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, police said.

The New Jersey State Police, Nutley and Maywood police departments, the Bergen County Sheriff's Office, the Lyndhurst Fire Department, and the Bergen County Regional Scuba Task Force are assisting Lyndhurst police with their investigation.
