Mahwah Legislators Meet District 39 Reps
Mahwah will move from District 40 due to Census redistricting

At a recent meeting of the Mahwah Republican Club, some of the township’s legislators met with District 39 representatives.
The 2010 Census resulted in a that has Mahwah moving from District 40 to District 39, with a host of new legislators representing the township.
Bergen County Freeholder Rob Hermansen invited Senator Gerald Cardinale, Assemblyman Robert Schroeder and Assemblywoman Charlotte Vandervalk to meet with Mahwah’s legislators.

“Each of the representatives spoke to the group, provided background and credentials along with their views on some of the pressing issues facing our State, County and Municipality,” said Town Council President John Roth.
Roth said that this meeting should help ease the transition into District 39, representatives of which Mahwah residents for in this year’s November election.

“Each representative reinforced their willingness to assist Mahwah and stressed the availability of themselves and their respective staffs to support the Township in resolving problems with any of the state’s governmental entities,” Roth said.
