Mahwah Looks To Repeat At State Champs
The Thunderbirds will face off against the Cardinals Sunday at 4 p.m.

MAHWAH, N.J. — The Mahwah High School Thunderbirds will look to repeat as North 1 Group 2 champions Sunday.
The Thunderbirds will face off against the Cardinals at 4 p.m. Sunday at Met Life Stadium.
Mahwah won the state title last year with a 38-13 drumming of Glen Rock. Westwood won the title in 2013 and 2014.

Mahwah defeats Westwood the first game of the season 24-6.
Westwood quarterback Sean Hopkins is one of only 20 quarterbacks in the state to throw for more than 2,000 yards this season while rushing for nearly 800 and scoring 25 touchdowns, NJ.com reported.

Mahwah has averaged 35 points a game and notched more than 40 points three times, including a season-high of 49 against Ramsey.
Westwood's defense, on the other hand, has allowed just 12 points a game and held their opponents to single digits on the scoreboard five times, including two shutouts.
