MAHWAH, NJ — A Mahwah teacher and coach recently received some shine on the aptly named CBS talk show The Talk.

Jason Calhoun, a physical education teacher at George Washington Elementary School and coach for the Mahwah High School soccer and softball team, was recognized for his creativity on the show.

Calhoun told Patch he has been crafting at-home games with his son for his students that don't have much home equipment to try. He posts the videos on his social media channels, including Twitter and Instagram.

Featured on the show was a do-it-yourself Plinko game, which was an idea taken from The Price Is Right. Calhoun modified the game to incorporate three exercises.

The video was featured on the show's May It Forward segment, and posted on The Talk's social media channels.

Carrie Ann Inaba said the game was "a great way to engage kids," and extended a thank you to Calhoun and other physical education teachers motivating kids to keep active during remote learning.

Calhoun's games can be described as resourceful. In one video, he creates a number of games with nothing more than a garbage bag.
