Mahwah Public Library Reopening July 6

The library announced Tuesday that normal hours would resume, but the reopening would include limited services.

MAHWAH, NJ — The Mahwah Public Library will be open beginning on Monday, July 6.

Normal hours will resume, according to a post on the library website, but library services will be limited.

Listed on the library website are eight rules that patrons must follow throughout the summer, including the use of face coverings when in the library.

If a patron is unable to wear a mask, the library asks that they utilize the library's home delivery and curbside pickup services.

  • Patrons must maintain 6-feet of distance between themselves and others. Floor markings will be placed to assist.
  • No one under the age of 14 can enter the library without a parent, guardian or other "responsible adult who will supervise their behavior."
  • No more than 50 patrons are allowed in the library at one time.
  • No more than two people may occupy a study room at the same time.
  • Time in the library will be restricted to one hour per person.
  • Public computer sessions are limited to 30 minutes.

All returns will be placed in the book return bin near the rear entrance of the library, as library staff will be quarantining all returned items for three days.
