Mahwah Softball Coach Earns 400th Career Victory

Mahwah softball coach Craig Nielsen won his 400th game on Monday when Mahwah defeated River Dell, 10-1, according to a NorthJersey.com report.

His daughter, Anna Nielsen, hit a home run to contribute to the victory, the report states.

Nielsen’s team presented him with a poster and plaque commemorating the accomplishment, according to the report.

For years Nielsen guided nearby Pasack Valley to multiple winning seasons. He arrived at Mahwah in 2011 and rapidly turned around the faltering program.

In 2013 he was named the Bergen Record’s Coach of the Year after guiding them to a North 1, Group 2 Championship.
